Katie Needs Money
I see you watching me in my little blow-up pool. It beats the heat, but I sure wish we had a big pool. Daddy said I should take up a collection from our friends and neighbors. I could do that and I wonder if daddy knows just what I would do for a pool!
I put on the tiniest bikini, a pair of white ankle socks and my white tennis shoes with the pink hearts. Daddy is so much fun! He had me practice my sales pitch on him. I wasn’t too far into it, when daddy said he had something to do and went to his bedroom. How odd!
Then I went to the house across the street where the man was watching me. I explained the pool situation and how very much I needed one. He laughed and said it’s too late in the season now, but I could use his pool.
I swam and splashed for hours while he watched me. He sat in his lawn chair, with a towel on his lap. I know why he was covered up and it really wasn’t necessary.
I jumped out of the pool and like a little bad girl, pulled off his towel. Oh! He sure has a big pool!
